A Day in the Life of a GOTR Volunteer- by Katie Strickland Video Reflection 2

This video outlines what a typical day is for myself and the girls in my group at GOTR. So far I have loved all of the time I have been able to spend at this organization and can't wait for the next month to come!

  1. Wow! This looks like so much fun and seems like y'all are really making a positive impact in these girls' lives! Is there ever any resistance from the girls to participate during the activities? What's the biggest challenge you've run in to since volunteering?

    1. Believe it or not, there are very few problems we run into at GOTR. The girls are always so excited to be there and willing to participate in the activities. However, there is one problem we run into. There are sometimes a few girls that are a extremely hyper and have trouble focusing during the lesson. Even so the teachers are very good at helping the girls stay focused and containing the energy. Another problem we sometimes run into is the girls not wanting to run. This is an easy problem to solve because usually with a little bit of encouragement, the girls are willing to push themselves to run. Overall the girls are very well behaved and willing to participate in activities!
